GPA Benefits and Features
Among the user benefits offered by GPA are the following:
Enables the performance analyst to become familiar with a system quickly.
Substantially shortens the time needed to analyze the system‟s performance.
Helps the performance analyst to identify performance problem areas and, in many
cases, to pinpoint the specific causes of such problems.
Allows the system manager to determine quickly the effectiveness of system
performance management.
GPA has the following features:
Indicates in clear and simple terms how efficiently system resources are being used.
Shows to what extent the existing capacity of the system is being used.
Makes recommendations for tuning the system.
Provides PUP or SCF input (PUPIN/SCFIN) control statements for implementing
tuning recommendations and a PUP or SCF backout file (PUPBAK/SCFBAK) to
restore the system to its previous state, depending on the operating system.
Enables you to choose the optional reports that meet your specific requirements.
Analyzes any NonStop system node with up to 16 processors of any type.
Installs and runs easily, and can provide its performance analysis results (in the form
of two reports) in roughly 2 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the node, the
processor type the analyzer is executed on and the amount of data to be analyzed.
