Servicing the Tape Drive
This section addresses the following topics:
Removing a Tape Drive from the Tape
Enclosure
1. Power off the unit.
2. Remove the rear cover.
3. Remove the power cord and the SCSI cable from the unit.
4. Loosen the two screws on the rear of the sled (See
for screw locations).
5. When the two screws on the sled are both unscrewed all the way, take hold of the
rear handle and slowly pull the drive toward you.
6. Pull the tape drive out enough so that you can place your other hand under it.
7. With one hand on the rear handle and the other hand on the bottom or the unit,
slowly pull the tape drive out of the enclosure and set it aside.
Adding a Tape Drive to the Tape Enclosure
1. With one hand under the tape drive and the other hand holding the rear handle,
slowly insert the tape drive all the way into the back of the enclosure.
2. Check that the two screws on the rear of the drive are aligned with the holes on the
back of the enclosure.
3. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the two screws. See
for the
location of the screws and handle.

This section explains in detail how the user will be able to easily remove a tape drive or
add it to/from the tape enclosure.

The tape drive comes with a handle that you can use to hold the drive securely when
installing it in the tape enclosure.
