At the conclusion of the job, the file catalog has two tape file entries for the fourth
generation of WEEKLY_PAYROLL:

All disk files written to TAP005 and TAP006 are cataloged as well. The physical copy
number identifies these tape file entries as being copies that can be interchanged only
as an entire volume set.

For more information on the BACKCOPY utility, see the Guardian Disk and Tape
Utilities Reference Manual.

DSM/TC System Terms

To make the best use of the MEDIACOM commands, you need to be familiar with:

System search list

System search space

Current default node

System Search List

A DSM/TC system can be configured on one node or on more than one node in a
network. If configured on more than one node, DSM/TC must know which nodes are
included in its services. This information is kept in the system search list, which:

Lets a MEDIACOM command affect file and volume catalogs on any node in the
DSM/TC system, regardless of which node the command is issued from

Defines the nodes whose volume catalogs are checked when searching for a
premounted tape

A system search list is one of the first items defined when you set up a DSM/TC
system. It is created by the SSLIST option of the ALTER MEDIADEFS command. For
domains involving more than one node, the ALTER MEDIADEFS command must be
executed once for each node to create the system search list on that node. The default
system search list always contains the local node name.
