To set the system defaults:
MC>alter mediadefs, filecat default_catalog,volcat


Use INFO MEDIADEFS to verify all of the defaults set in the previous command:

Creating the Default Catalogs
Use the CREATE FILECAT and CREATE VOLCAT commands to create the default
catalogs. Verify settings with the INFO FILECAT and INFO VOLCAT commands:
MC>create filecat default_catalog, subvol $data1.default,

MC>create volcat default_catalog,subvol $data1.default,

secure "nnnn"

1 volume catalog created.
MC>info filecat *
