No Available Tape Library Drives

To see the specific returned error, use a STATUS TAPEMOUNT, DETAIL command:

MC>STATUS TAPEMOUNT,DETAIL

Tape Mount 648

Tape Name *RETRY

Action NO ACTION NEEDED

Write Protected NO

Label Type ANSI

AVR System \SYS01

Tape Use OUT

Open Exclusion EXCLUSIVE

Comment ZSSI ERROR 57, WILL RETRY

Process Name $Z723

Process (CPU,PIN) (5,165)

Define Class TAPE

Define Name =DEF

Program Name \SYS01.$SYSTEM.SYS02.FUP

1 tape mount returned.

The COMMENT field returns the specific ACSLS library server error. The EMS
message generated by ZSSI has error text corresponding to the error. For a
description of the error and recovery, see your ACSLS library server error manual.

No Available Tape Library Drives

If all tape drives in a tape library are unavailable, $ZSVR generates an EMS event
containing tape server process error 1013 (all tape drives busy, queueing ACS
request). After a three minute delay, it retries the request. If a MEDIACOM STATUS
TAPEMOUNT command is executed during this three minute interval, this is returned:

MC>STATUS TAPEMOUNT

Tape Tape Label Write

Mount Name Type Node or Device Prot Action Needed

----- ------ ------ ---------------- ---- -----------------

648 *BUSY ANSI \SYS01 NO NO ACTION NEEDED

1 tape mount returned.

*BUSY, returned in the tape name field, is used to distinguish this type of request.
When the request is retried, the tape name becomes *ZSSI. See the example in

Retryable Error

on page 8-8. If you determine that the request should not be retried,

use the REJECT TAPEMOUNT command to cancel the request.

Nonretryable Errors

If a nonretryable error is returned from the ACSLS library server, the requesting
application's OPEN request fails with file-system error 595 (a nonretryable error has
occurred), and $ZSVR generates an EMS event containing tape server process error
1012 (SSI non-retryable error).
