IMPORTANT: Hot-plug capability and drive LED support are only available when a supported
optional controller is installed in the server.
IMPORTANT: If only one drive is being installed, install it in the bay with the lowest drive number.
For drive installation guidelines, see "Drive installation guidelines (on page 30 )."
1. Power down the server if performing a non-hot-plug installation or maintenance procedure (" Power
down the server " on page 19 ).
2. Remove the tower bezel (on page 20 ).
3. Do one of the following:
o Remove the drive blank.
o Remove the drive.
