TROUBLESHOOTING
If the software application times out or is unable to update the endpoint firmware for any reason, try the following and then
retry updating the endpoint
IR update errors
•
Clean the IR head and the endpoint infrared ports with a soft dry cloth to remove any debris or moisture
•
Disconnect and reconnect the IR programming cable securely to the laptop serial port
•
When updating an endpoint, block as much of the surrounding light as possible
•
Try another IR programming cable if one is available
•
Make sure the IR cable is in good condition Replace it if necessary
•
Use the optional IR Programming Bracket (PN: 65917-001) to facilitate an IR update

RF update errors
•
Check the endpoint
- Make sure the endpoint serial number is valid/accurate
- Make sure the endpoint radio is not in Pause or Stop mode
•
Multiple updates
- If multiple firmware updates are being performed at the same time, make sure each list of endpoints is
unique—an endpoint should not appear on more than one list
•
Timed-out error
- If an update times out after several attempts, move the vehicle and retry the update
Check the equipment
•
Use the switch to turn the mobile transceiver off for a few seconds Then turn it back on
•
Unplug the mobile transceiver communication cable for a few seconds Then plug it back in
•
Reposition your vehicle, moving to a better vantage point for the endpoint
Check the software
•
Check the Settings to make sure the COM ports are valid for the equipment connected to the laptop Refer to

Close the software application and start it again
