Radio Status
After the firmware is updated via IR, the endpoint Radio Status buttons display on the screen as shown in Figure 18

The following statuses can display in the Radio Status field
Status Description
Stopped Endpoint is not transmitting The endpoint radio is stopped and must be
reprogrammed to begin transmitting again
Paused Endpoint radio transmission is temporarily stopped until water flow is registered
On Mobile Mode Endpoint is sending/receiving communications in mobile radio mode until and unless
the endpoint establishes communication with a network gateway
On Fixed Mode Endpoint is assigned to a network gateway for fixed network data collection
Updating Radio Status
The Radio Status field typically shows what the endpoint status was before the firmware update If you need to change the
radio status of the endpoint, align the optical head of the IR programming cable with the endpoint IR LED port and click Start,
Stop or Pause, as needed
If an endpoint transitions to “Stopped” mode during an update and must be restarted, you must also sync the endpoint
clock and reprogram the reading (RTR) or perform a force read (ELCD, HRE or ENC) Instructions for syncing the clock and
programming an endpoint, or performing a force read, can be found in the ORION Endpoint Utility for Laptop and the ORION
