PRESSURE
Maximum operati ng line pressure is 100 psig (689 kPa). If the line pressure is
higher than 100 psig (689 kPa), use a pressure regulator upstream from the
fl ow controller to reduce the pressure to 100 psig (689 kPa)or less.
Although the meter’s operati on is uni-directi onal, reversing the fl ow directi on
will infl ict no damage as long as the maximum specifi ed limits are not
exceeded. The diff erenti al pressure sensor uti lized in this fl ow meter/controller
is a very sensiti ve device capable of detecti ng minute diff erences in pressure.
Smooth and consistent source pressure is highly preferable, as any pulsing
or fl uctuati on in water pressure will hydraulically couple to the diff erenti al
pressure sensor, and the resultant fl ow reading will jump analogously.
Please note that, depending on model and fl ow range, water fl ow meters have
an inherent internal pressure drop higher than that of standard gas fl ow meters
of similar fl ow range. The minimum water device pressure drop is 2 psig, going
all the way to 20 psig drop in certain models. Your source input pressure must
meet or exceed this specifi cati on, in additi on to any back pressure you may
have on the downstream end of your process.
