8. Replace with new thermocouple at same depth as old thermocouple.
9. Wrap the thermocouple with ceramic wrapping at the clamp in the same manner as
removed.
10. Replace cavity assembly into M330 in reverse order.
11. Install the replaceable cavity according to Chapter 3 M330 Cavity Installation.
12. Check calibation and adjust according to Section 5.6 Controller Calibration.
6.3.2 Secondary Thermocouple Replacement Procedure
1. Locate the secondary thermocouple.
2. Follow same procedure as for Primary Thermocouple Replacement except work on the
secondary thermocouple.
6.4 Heater Element Replacement
In the event that time is of the essence and returning the M330 to LumaSense for repair is out of
the question, you may replace a heater element with the correct replacement. Note that 4
elements are required to replace all elements. Usually, only one opens at any time which will
shut down all elements. Contact LumaSense to order the heater element PN 12651-3 (Kanthal
type Super 1800).

With normal daily use the heating element life should be at least 5 to 10 years.
