Introduction 11
2.3.1 BoilerSpection Camera and Lens Assembly
Inside the rugged BoilerSpection-IM enclosure is an exceptionally precise 320 x 240 focal-plane array
microbolometer camera that provides
unmatched infrared imaging clarity for
uncooled detectors.
The camera includes interchangeable
borescope optics that are filtered at
3.9 µm wavelength enabling the imager
to clearly view through the combustion
gas and flames. The borescope lens is
used to extend through the thickness of
the furnace walls allowing the camera a
clear view of the inside of the boiler.
The lens includes integrated air purging
for cooling with compressed air, but the
user does not need to connect air for
most use scenarios. You have your choice of a lens and may also purchase additional lenses.
2.3.2 Onboard Display
An onboard display is attached to a flexible arm allowing you to
adjust the relative position of the display during use. The display has
an integrated digital video recording (DVR) to a micro-SD memory
card. The flexible arm allows the display to be positioned to either
the left side or the right side of the camera for the user’s
convenience.
2.3.3 Adjustable Radiation Shield
The radiation shield protects the operator from furnace debris and from the direct heat radiation
from the furnace. The shield can be adjusted at a variable distance from the camera enclosure
depending on the application and the lens being used. It can also be adjusted to act as a stop so
that the lens is not inserted too far into the furnace.
Caution: Proper PPE and clothing, gloves, and eye protection should be worn when
inserting the camera into a port per plant safety regulations.
2.4 Optional Components
In addition to the base system, customers can select from options, such as:
Wireless display with DVR capture to SD memory card
Air filtration system and air hoses for continuous operation in a furnace
