5.1 Analyzer Cables: Four Models
There are four different Teledyne LeCroy analyzer cable assemblies for use with mid-bus probes – two
serve the PETracer ML™, one serves the PETracer EML™ and one serves the Summit T2-16.
CAUTION: On any of the four cable models, DO NOT ROCK connectors up and down when inserting or
removing them or the pins may bend. Press connectors into place. When removing, pull connectors
straight out.
5.2 The Four-Connector PETracer ML Cable Assembly
The four-connector cable (PN: 180-0066-00) can be used with one or
two PETracer™ ML analyzers and records traffic of any lane width up
to x8. This cable can thus provide service for any PETracer ML setup.
It can also be used in any PETracer test setup.
The four-connector cable assembly has four small connectors labeled A, B, C, and D. Each of these
connectors carries four lanes of unidirectional traffic from a group of pins in the mid-bus Probe. The table
on the right shows the connector assignments (A through D) and their matching pins on the mid-bus
probe.
When used with the mid-bus probe, each connector carries traffic in one direction – hence it is necessary
to use the right combination of connectors with your setup. Connectors A and C are designed to carry
upstream traffic. Connectors B and D are designed to carry downstream traffic (see Section 4.3 for
details). The table below shows the permissible connector combinations. For x1, x2 and x4 systems, you
only need one analyzer and should use either the A and B connectors or the C and D connectors. For a
x8 setup, you need two analyzers and you use all four connectors.
