APPENDIX VIII: PILLAR ACCESSORY INSTALLATION

Pillar Accessory
The pillar accessory enables the instrument to be attached to a platform.

1. Attach the pillar assembly to the scale platform, using the directions in the

appropriate SJ Manual.

2. Bring the load cell cable up through the pillar.

3. Remove the front panel of the instrument and disconnect all of the cable connected

to the main PC Board.

4. Set the front panel aside.

5. Remove the four mounting bolts on the back of the instrument.

6. Carefully feed the load cell cable through the water proof gland on the back of the

instrument.

7. Place the instrument on top of the pillar assembly. The load cell gland and the AC

power cord will be inside the pillar.

8. Secure the instrument in place on top of the pillar by re-installing the four mounting

bolts.

9. Connect the load cell cable to the connector, and plug the connector into the front

panel.

10. Reconnect all of the other cables to the front panel. See Section 3, Figure 3-2 for

details.

11. Reinstall the front panel on the instrument. Secure with the four front panel bolts.

Tighten securely to ensure a watertight seal.

NOTE: When the instrument is mounted on the pillar; the front panel will be rotated

one-half turn from the normal bench top orientation.
