S YSTEM C ONSIDERATIONS
TurboVUi System Planner Template
Use the System Planner Template at the end of this document to record device names, passwords, and IP addresses.
TurboVUi IP Gateway and MOTOTRBO XPR4550 Configuration
Before installing the TurboVUi Dispatch Client, the TurboVUi IP Gateway(s) must be configured using the ICU.exe
utility (IP Configuration Utility) and installed on an IP network. In addition, the XPR4550 Control Station(s) must be
configured using Motorola’s CPS utility (Customer Programming Software). See the TurboVUi IP Gateway Installation
Guide S2-61534 for more details on the following topics.
GPS Mapping Support
Note: GPS Mapping is not available in the TurboVUi Voice version.
Mapping of subscriber radios requires the following:

TurboVUi IP Gateways must have GPS enabled using ICU.exe

Subscriber radios must have GPS and ARS enabled using CPS
Group Call Support
Group IDs (Call ID) must be added to the Contacts folder in CPS.
All-Call Support
An All-Call group must be added to the Contacts folder in CPS.
TurboVUi Version Match
TurboVUi Dispatch Clients and TurboVUi IP Gateways must have compatible versions in order to communicate with
each other. Compatibility can be ensured when the first two digits of the version match. (The third digit indicates a minor
revision, and does not need to match.)
MOTOTRBO Control Station Radio Version
The MOTOTRBO control station connected to the TurboVUi IP Gateway must have firmware version 1.6.x or later .
Connect Plus Systems
For Connect Plus systems, the MOTOTRBO control station connected to the TurboVUi IP Gateway must have the
following:

Firmware version 2.2.x or later, and

Connect Plus Option Board with firmware version 1.3.x or higher.
PC Settings for Power and Display
Power Settings
The Power Settings should be adjusted so that the PC never hibernates or sleeps. Use the Power Options item in the
Control Panel to make these adjustments.
Display Properties
The TurboVUi Dispatch client has been designed to be used with display monitors with the following display
properties:

Font Size – Normal

DPI - Normal (96DPI)
Altering the above settings may cause the TurboVUi Dispatch client to be displayed improperly.
