HIB-IP
™ Network Interface
For MCN
™ Monitoring and Control Systems
Introduction
The HIB-IP
™ Network Interface Module is part
of CTI Products' Monitoring and Control
Network (MCN
™) System. It connects a PC
running the MCNRCD software to a remote
MCN network over an IP network.
Remote Comparator Display Systems
A Monitoring & Control Network will have
various Input/Output modules (such as CIB,
AIB
and IOB modules) connected to
comparators and other alarm points and
relays.
The HIB-IP module is installed at the remote
MCN network. It brings the status indications
(Vote, Receive, Disable, Fail, Alarm, etc.)
back to the PC over an IP (LAN or WAN)
network. It also allows the operator to control
the remote devices.
PC Connection & Security
The HIB-IP unit can connect with one PC at a
time.
For security, it contains a user-
configurable PC Authorization list which
contains the IP addresses of all authorized
PCs.
Multiple Simultaneous PC Displays
Multiple simultaneous PC display positions are
supported in the MCN system in three ways:
 HIB-IP module with the MCNRCD
Server PC with multiple PC clients
connecting to the Server.
 Multiple HIB-IP units (one per PC)
 EXB Network Extenders (Internal
Modem, Serial, or IP) and appropriate
Network Interfaces (PCLTA, HIB-IP or
HIB-232)
Full parallel status and control on all PCs is
supported.

 Router/Repeaters, EXB Network
