TOOLS REQUIRED:

Test-probe, Trim Panel Puller, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit),

10mm Socket, Ratchet, Wire Crimpers, Wire Cutters

1. Open the vehicle’s rear tailgate. On the driver’s

side remove access panel and pull out foam from

opening to locate rear of taillight d e. Repeat on

the passenger side. Remove threshold, trunk floor

panels and trays f. Set aside all items removed

being careful not to damage parts.

2. On the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle,

locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness, plugged

directly into the taillight socket e. The taillight

wiring harness will have a connection point, on

both sides, matching the ends of the T-Connector.

Separate this connector, being careful not to break

the locking tabs. Check to see that the mating

surfaces of the vehicle wiring connectors match the

T-Connector ends. All connector surfaces should be

clean and free of dirt.

3. On the driver’s side, insert the T-Connector end,

with the yellow wire, between the vehicle wiring

connectors and lock into place. Be careful not

to damage the locking tabs and be sure that

connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs

in place.

4. Route the T-Connector end with green wire to the

passenger ‘s side behind the panels and along the

threshold g.

Repeat step 3 for T-Connector end

with the green wire.

8. Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable

and install the 10 amp fuse into the fuse holder

from step 7.

WARnInG

All connections must be complete for the

T-Connector to function properly. Test and verify

installation with a test light or trailer once installed.

For initial test, reset vehicle electrical system by

temporarily removing the key from

the ignition.

9. Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness

with the cable ties provided, to prevent damage or

rattling and being careful to avoid any areas that

would pinch, cut or melt the wire.

10. Reinstall the threshold, storage covers, floor

covering and other items removed during

installation, being careful not to pinch or

cut the wires.

WARnInG

Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT exceed

lower of towing manufacturer rating or:

• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)

• Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)

5. Locate a suitable grounding point near the

connector such as the vehicle’s frame or cross

member. (Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.)

Clean dirt and rustproofing from area. Drill a 3/32”

hole and secure white wire using eyelet and

screw provided.

CAUTIOn

Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to

avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury.

Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.

6. From inside the vehicle, connect the black 12 ga.

wire and the red wire from the T-Connector black

box with the supplied yellow butt connector. Either

route the black wire thru a grommet and along the

exterior frame or follow the existing wiring along

the thresholds into the engine compartment up to

the battery avoiding areas that may pinch or break

the wire.

7. Under vehicle hood, locate the vehicle’s fuse box

h. Remove cover to access the power cable stud.

Using a 10mm socket, remove the nut from the

stud and set aside i. If not removed, remove the

fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided). After

cutting the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal

and secure to the vehicle’s power cable stud j.

Reattach 10mm nut removed and make sure all

other power connections are secure. Connect the

other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga.

wire, using the yellow butt connector (provided).

on the tow vehicle’s battery.
