Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5
and SAE J684.

1.

Lower exhaust by removing rubber isolators from muffler hanger on driver’s side. Remove the outside isolator first then the inside isolator.

Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator helps removal. Remove the (2) bolt holding the exhaust in

place on the passengers side.

2.

Remove existing bolts from the end panel below the bumper attachment . Return to owner.

3.

Using the 11/16” drill open the existing hole on the cross member. DO NOT DRILL THRU BOTH SIDE OF CROSSMEMBER TUBE. Vehicle may

need to be raised or jacked up for additional access.

4.

Tape spacers to either back of bracket or end panel.

5.

Raise hitch into position over exhaust pipes and slide into position rear of the end panel. Install M8 bolts and 3/8” conical washers as shown.

Loosely tighten all (4) bolts.

6.

Install the rivet nut, ½” lock washer, ½” flat washer, hitch bar then the ½” conical washer and ½ bolt to single slot end of bar. (Hand tight)

7.

Place bar in place as shown, and install the 1/2” bolts to the back of the hitch and attach the ½” conical washers and ½ bolts and loosely tighten.

8.

To install rivet nut (Item 7) in cross member, hold bar tight against cross member while tightening the ½-13 hex bolt to 45 FT-LB(61 N*M) (This

will seat the rivet nut.)

9.

Loosen the ½-13 hex bolt at rivet nut and remove the lock washer which is only used to install rivet nut.

10.

Reinstall the ½” hex bolt and conical washer

11. Tighten all fasteners to the required torque specification.

12. Reattach exhaust.

Tighten all M8 fasteners with torque wrench to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M)

Tighten all ½-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
