Valley Detail

1. Install Cant Strip as shown behind the first 2” x 2”
batten.

2. Apply ATA-Shield** along eave and up the roof to
a point at least 24” beyond outside face of exterior
wall.

2. Install eave trim against fascia trim. Space
fasteners at a maximum of 12” o.c. Overlap drip
edge a minimum of 2”.

3. Place appropriate underlayment/ATA-Guard* on
the roof, overlapping cant strip and eave trim.

4. Refer to gable and/or valley details as required
before installing panels.

5. Install panel by sliding lower flange over eave trim.

1. Install thre (3) 2” x 2” battens at the gable edge as
shown.

2. Lay panel in place as shown and bend the edge of
the panel up against the upper batten to create a
water diverter

3. Install Barrel Flashing Caps from eavr to ridge.
Fasten at top of cap into the wood battens. Be sure
that upper caps lock into the flange of the previously
installed cap.

1. Place ATA-Shield** 18” up both sides of the valley
line.

2. Install 2” x 2” battens to a point 6 1/2” from the
middle of the valley. Place the valley pan in the val-
ley working from bottom to top.

3. Fasten the valley through the top flange of the
valley into the wood battens.

4. Measure panel to valley angle. Cut panel to
required angle and size; allow extra for bending
“angle” over 1” into the valley.

Underlayments: ATA-Shield** is the recommended self adhe-
sive underlayment for eaves, sidewall and any critical areas
exposed to ice damming and extensive water run off.
Available in 65’-8” rolls.

Underlayments: ATA-Guard* is a polyolefin based, 100% asphalt
free, high strength reinforced roofing underlayment for use on
steep slopes beneath metal roofing.
