Software Control
Software is not normally required to operate the MLA VC10 Plus. However, to configure
the unit or update the firmware, this section provides essential information.

Computer Requirements
The minimum requirements for the PC are:
z Windows ® XP, Service Pack 2, Windows Vista ® , Windows 7, or later
z Intel ® Pentium ® II processor with a 400 MHz clock speed or faster
z At least 64 MB of RAM Device
z At least 10 MB of Hard Disk space
z The MLA VC10 Plus must be directly connected to the computer through the rear
panel RS-232 captive screw connectors or the front panel USB port.
About the Software
In most cases, the MLA VC10 Plus will work with the factory default settings and will
not require further configuration. If necessary, the MLA VC10 Plus can be controlled and
configured using the Extron
SIS commands (see page 31).
To configure the MLA VC10 Plus, using SIS commands, Extron recommends that you install
the DataViewer program on your PC. This is provided on the disc that ships with the unit.
It can also be downloaded, free of charge, from the Extron website (
www.extron.com ).
