Filter

Let’s look at the third default ZyXEL filter, TELNET_WAN (see Figure 8-6) as an example. Please see the
PNC Disk for more example filters. This filter is designed to block outside users from telnetting into the
Prestige.

Telnet Filter Example

Step 1. Enter 21 from the Main Menu to open Menu 21 - Filter Set Configuration.
Step 2. Enter the index of the filter set you wish to configure (in this case, 3) and press [ENTER]

Step 3. Enter a descriptive name or comment in the Edit Comments field (in this case TELNET_WAN)

and press [ENTER].

Step 4. Press [ENTER] at the message: [Press ENTER to Confirm…] to open Menu 21.3 - Filter Rules

Summary.

Step 5. Enter 1 to configure the first filter rule (the only filter rule of this set). Make the entries in this

menu as shown in the following figure:
