Before operating your stereo system, you need to set up
the speaker configuration and the distance from the
listening position to each speaker.

Note

It is not necessary to set the parameters again once you have
completed the setup (with one exception*) unless you change the
speaker configuration.

Speaker Setup

Press SPEAKER SETUP to display
the subwoofer configuration.

The subwoofer configuration appears in
the DVD Receiver's display.

Press MODE ADJ

/

to select

either “YES” (when a subwoofer is
connected) or “NO” (when no
subwoofer is connected).

If you select “NO,” the configuration of the
front speakers is automatically set to
“LARGE.” In this case, skip the next step
and go to step 4.

Press ENTER, then press MODE
ADJ

/

to select either

“LARGE” (when large–wideband–
front speakers are connected) or
“SMALL” (when small–with limited
bass signal handling–front
speakers are connected).

Press ENTER, then press MODE
ADJ

/

to select either

“LARGE” (when a large center
speaker is connected), “SMALL”
(when a small center speaker is
connected), or “NONE” (when no
center speaker is connected).

Note

If the front speaker configuration is set to
“SMALL” in step 3, “LARGE” will not appear in
this step.

Press ENTER, then press MODE
ADJ

to select either

“LARGE” (when large surround
speakers are connected), “SMALL”
(when small surround speakers are
connected), or “NONE” (when no
surround speakers are connected).

Note

If the front speaker configuration is set to
“SMALL” in step 3, “LARGE” will not appear in
this step.

Press ENTER, then press MODE
ADJ

repeatedly to enter the

distance between your listening
position and one of the front
speakers.

• Set the value closest to the actual

distance.
The distance from the listening position
to one of the front speakers must be the
same as the distance to the other
speaker.

• To increase the value, press MODE ADJ

• To decrease the value, press MODE ADJ

.

• You can select a distance between 0.3 ft.

and 30 ft. (1 and 9 m).
