Customizing the Function Settings

Items next to the mark represent advanced settings. If these items are not displayed in the
window, refer to page 101 for information on how to display them.
Changing the background on the screen [Background]
You can select a background color on the screen when the PDR-155 is stopped.
Gray:
The background is gray. (Factory setting)
Black:
The background is black.
Selecting the type of paused image to display [Still Picture]
This function lets you view a clear still image when DVD playback is paused.With some discs,
selecting [Field] for [Still Picture] may not improve the picture quality.
Field:
Picture flicker will be eliminated in pause mode.
Frame:
Standard mode
Auto:
Selects [Field] or [Frame] automatically according to the disc. (Factory
setting)
Setting the position of the on-screen display [On Screen Display]
You can specify the position of the Setup window and other on-screen displays on the TV
screen according to the type of TV. Set this item if the DVD is recorded with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
(Check the disc jacket for more information.) You can also eliminate the operation indicators
(such as PLAY and STOP.)
Position-Wide:
Select this to make sure that the entire window will be displayed when
the picture is zoomed on a wide-screen TV.
Position-Normal:
Select this if “Normal” or “Full” has been selected on a wide-screen TV.
(Factory setting)
Off:
No window is displayed.
Turning the angle mark on or off [Angle Indicator]
You can set this item so that the angle mark will not be displayed during playback.
On:
is displayed. (Factory setting)
Off:
is not displayed.
