Connecting The External Telephone
There are two similar sockets located
at the rear of the machine.
• LINE – the telephone line connec-
tion
• TEL – for an external telephone
when sharing the line with a tele-
phone
A
Plug the line cable into the LINE
socket at the rear of the machine.
B
Connect the other end of the line
cable to your telephone line wall
socket.
C
Plug the external telephone cable
into the TEL socket at the rear of
the machine.
D
Connect the other end of the ex-
ternal telephone cable to your tel-
ephone.
Note
❒ If you wish to also be able to re-
ceive incoming telephone calls,
you must set the Reception
mode to Auto mode.(see Chap-
ter 2 “Reception Modes” in the
Basic Features manual)

Answering Machine (TAM ) to
the FAX machine
Plug the TAM line into the TEL socket
at the rear of the machine.
