The Ethernet Base Module comes installed in your 4400 Should you need to
remove it, remove all modules above it (refer to Section 6, "Installing Expansion
(Data and Voice) Modules" for information on opening the unit), disconnect the
power connector, remove the 4 screws in the back panel and lift the board out.
Interface Modules
The Ethernet Base Module currently supports the following interface modules:
WAN serial interface module, 56kbps CSU/DSU interface module, T1 CSU/DSU
interface module, and ISDN interface module.
Procedure 11: Installing an interface module
1.
Slide the interface module gently into the slot labeled Port 2 or Port 3 on the
lower left end of the Ethernet base module back panel. Make sure the
component side of the module is down.
2.
Ensure that the module is pushed all the way in so it mates with the
connector at the back of the slot.
3.
Secure the module with the two Phillips screws supplied with the module.

The interface module must not be inserted into or removed from
the unit while the unit is operating. This could cause damage to the
unit and/or interruption of network service.
