Configuring Syslog

You can configure where the system log messages are going to be sent and specify the lowest level
message that the Device Server will send syslog messages for.

Configure the following options:

Primary Host

Secondary Host

Level

Subnet/Prefix Bits When the gateway is a

Network

gateway, you must specify the subnet/prefix

bits for that network. If the IP address is IPv4, then the Subnet/Prefix Bits

range is 0-32. If the IP address is IPv6, then the Subnet/Prefix Bits range is

0-128.

Gateway List

The list of defined gateways.

The first preconfigured host that the Device Server will attempt to send system

log messages to; messages will be displayed on the host’s monitor.

If the Device Server cannot communicate with the primary host, then the

Device Server will attempt to send system log messages to this preconfigured

host; messages will be displayed on the host’s monitor.

Choose the event level that triggers a syslog entry:

Debug

When you select a

, all the levels that appear above it in the list also

trigger a syslog entry. For example, if you select
