Delayed Transmission

Take advantage of lower evening long distance rates with delayed transmission.
Your fax can store one delayed transmission command, which you can program
up to 31 days in advance. However, it is necessary for the fax document to be in
the feeder at the moment when you want the machine to send the fax.

Setting up A Delayed Transmission

Important:

Your machine remembers only the day of the month, not the month

itself, when it’s supposed to perform a delayed transmission. So, if,
say, you want your fax to do something at 5:05 PM on June 26, don’t
make that setting sooner than 5:06 PM on May 26.

To set up a delayed transmission:

1. Insert the document.

2. Press

program

.

Delayed Trans.

3. Press

mode/enter

.

Time : 12,11:30

4. Use the numeric keypad to enter the date, hour and minute when you want

your fax machine to carry out the delayed transmission.

In the example, the 12th is the date for the delayed transmission, and 11:30
AM is the time scheduled. (Remember that we’re using 24-hour time format;
11:30 PM would be expressed as 23:30.)

Note:

To move the cursor to a specific digit, press the one-touch key

a

to

move the leftward, or press the one-touch key

b

to move the rightward,

to that digit.

5. After entering the desired date and time, press

mode/enter

.

6. Enter the fax number to which the delayed transmission should go. You may

either press a one-touch key, enter a speed-dial number or just use the numeric
keypad normally.

123-4567

Note:

If you make a mistake or want to erase characters entered in a previous

setting, press

contrast/cancel

to erase leftward. Or, if you want to

change just one character in the number, press the one-touch

a

to move

the cursor leftward or press the one-touch

b

to move it rightward, to that

character. Then re-enter until the number is just as you want it.

7. Press

start

. Your fax machine will return to standby with a “Reserved” notice,

like this:

Reserved

This means your fax machine has stored a delayed transmission command.
While reserved, the machine can receive documents but cannot transmit.

Reviewing or Canceling a Delayed
Command

If you’ve stored a delayed transmission command in your fax machine or if you
attempt a fax transmission and your machine cannot make contact (for example,
due to a busy signal), it will hold the transmission command ---- and the original
document involved ---- until it carries it out successfully, it reaches its maximum
number of redial attempts (see page 1.17), or you cancel the command. If you
wish to review or cancel the command, here’s how:

1. Press

program

,

5

.

Review Command

2. Press

mode/enter

.

COM1 : 123-4567

In the example above, the fax machine is holding a command for a delayed
transmission to phone number 123-4567. Also, if a “right-now” transmission
attempt to the same number has been blocked by a busy signal, you’ll see the
above one.

3. When you wish to erase the command, press

contrast/cancel

.

COM1 : Erased

If you decide not to cancel the command, press

stop

.

And;

the delayed transmission command is able to cancel by pressing

stop

.
