8.1.3
Measures to take in the case of defective I/O channels or I/O
processors
If an S130 channel or an added secondary I/O processor is defective, you can perform the
following after consulting the service department:
Ê
Disable defective I/O channel during operation.
If an I/O channel has failed due to a hardware failure, it is automatically disabled. If not,
you can disable it using the BS2000 command
DET
Ë
*CHA(XX)
.
Ê
Disable defective I/O processor during operation.
If an I/O processor has failed due to a hardware failure, it is automatically disabled. If
not, you can disable it using the BS2000 command
/DETË*CHA(XX,YY)
when doing so, you should enter a list of channels CHPIDxx ,...,CHPIDyy; or enter a
range of channels from CHPIDxx to CHPIDyy using
/DETË*CHA-R(XX,YY)
You can continue processing with the other I/O processors until the repairs are carried
out by the service department. This is only possible if you can reach the peripheral
devices required for your work via non-defective I/O processors.
