3.5 Setting the SCSI Initiator ID
Each device on a SCSI bus must be given a unique ID, in the range of
0 – 15. The default setting for SCSI host adapters in a Sun Solaris
environment is 7. It is seldom necessary to change the initiator ID, unless
the host adapter is being used in a cluster environment where there is
more than one SCSI initiator on the same physical SCSI bus.
There are three places where the SCSI initiator ID can be changed. Each
has a different effect on the SCSI configuration. It is important to
understand the effect of each of the methods for setting the SCSI initiator
ID before you change the default setting:
