internal storage
K2 client models with internal storage access their own internal media storage drives.
Referred to as a stand-alone system. See also direct-connect storage, shared storage.
K2 10G RAID Storage
A storage system that includes a chassis, up to 12 disk modules, one or two RAID
controllers, and two power supplies. A K2 10G can support up to eleven K2 10G
Expansion Chassis (with up to 12 disk modules each) in addition to its own 12 disk
modules.
K2 10G Expansion Chassis
A storage system that includes a chassis, up to 12 disk modules, two expansion adapters,
and two power supplies.
K2 client
A Broadcast Enterprise Server that incorporates IT server platform and storage
technologies. Includes both K2 Media Client and K2 Summit Production Client. The
K2 client can be used with internal, direct-connect, or shared storage.
power supply
An essential element of the storage-system power supply. A storage system can have
two power supplies. With two, it can survive failure of one supply. You can replace a
power supply under power without interrupting applications.

replace under power
The storage system provides replace under power capability, allowing you to replace,
for example, a disk module or a power supply module without powering down the
storage system. Applications continue while you replace the failed module.
SCSI (small computer system interface)
A well-known protocol and standard for connecting computers and peripheral
devices.
SES (SCSI enclosure services)
A functional subset of SCSI III commands that allow a server to communicate with
storage enclosures using their disk modules.

In the context of storage systems, a processor that runs an operating system and uses
a disk-array storage system for data storage and retrieval.
