Purpose and Use

In typical use, circuits are built from the four ports of the QUAD T1
module, across the midplane of an AS3000 shelf, to a network or
data port on another AS3000 module. The ports of the QUAD T1
module can be network (DS-1) or equipment (DSX-1) ports,
depending on the rear connector module (CIM) selected. Circuits
can also be built from any port on a QUAD T1 module to any other
port on the same module, allowing it to connect local DSX-1
equipment to a T1 circuit.

NOTE: The QUAD DATA and IMUX modules will be included in

AS3000 Release 1.1, expected during Q3 1999.
