Log-In
Connect a Craft cable to the port labelled
LOCAL
on the front of the
SCM module.
Connect the other end of the Craft cable to a notebook computer.
Start a session in a terminal program.
1. Set your terminal parameters to:

One stop bit

No flow control

Configure Ports
Each port used in this example must be configured correctly and
placed in service. The Configuration Menu is used for this
purpose. With the first QUAD T1 module selected, access the
Configuration Menu by typing "C" at the Main Menu.

In the example Configuration Menu shown in
, ports 1
and 2 offer line build out options while ports 3 and 4 offer
equalization (cable length) options. This is because a CIM 3003 is
used. The CIM 3003 features two DS-1 ports and two DSX-1 ports.
This is correct for this example because we are connecting ports 1
and 2 to T1 circuits, and port 3 is connecting to a PBX which
presents a DSX-1 interface. Port 4 of the first QUAD T1 module is
not used in this example.
