Cleaning the strainer(s) at the
water tap
q Remove the hose from the tap.
q Rinse the strainer under flowing
water.
q Connect the hose.
Cleaning the strainers on the
washing machine
q Disconnect the hose from the
back of the washing machine.
q Pull out the strainer and rinse
under running water.
q Insert the strainer and reconnect
the hose.
q Turn on the water tap and check
whether water is still discharged.
If water is leaking, check that the
filter is correctly seated.
q Turn off the tap.
Descaling the washing
machine
Provided that you use the correct
amount of detergent, it is not
necessary to descale the washing
machine.
Rust spots caused by metal parts left
on the inside of the drum can be
removed by using descaler.
If, however, descaling the appliance
becomes necessary, please follow the
instructions provided by the descaling
agent manufacturer.
Emergency lock release
When the emergency lock release has
been actuated, the washing machine
door can be opened and the washing
taken out of the drum.
d Risk of scalding!
Switching off the appliance.
A programme which is running is
cancelled.
Allow the hot water to cool down.
Wait until the drum has come to
a standstill.
Attention!
The washing machine door can be
released at any time, even if the
washing machine is full of water.

Never open the washing machine
door as long as water can be
seen through the glass.
q Drain the water.
Refer to Cleaning the drain
pump"
q Open the service flap.
Insert a pointed implement into
the opening and rotate the service
flap in a clockwise direction.
q Remove the service flap.
q Pull the emergency lock release,
the washing machine door can be
opened.
