Overview

Overview

When a card is swiped, the special handler identifies if this is a WEX card that needs to be
handled by a special lockout routine.

WEX cards that match the ISO list are converted into a Gasboy

®

supervisor club card format

(

Figure 1

) as follows (when converted, WEX Product Restriction = Gasboy Auth. and WEX

Product ID = Gasboy Restriction):

The first 6 digits are to be manually entered (the prompt is determined by trfmt
configuration (see

“TRFMT” on page 5

) and this 6-digit manually-entered number can be

locked out using the site lockout.). If not entered, the first 6 digits are set to 000999.

The next 5 digits are the vehicle number from the WEX card. The 5-digit vehicle number
becomes the second club card field

The 6-digit fleet number will be the third club card field.

WEX club cards where the number of digits on the card does not equal the number of digits in
SYS-PAR will have the fields zero-filled at the end of the card number.

The WEX fleet number is checked by one of the two following methods:

• If the fleet.dta file exists, the fleet number is checked against the fleet.dta positive

lockout file on the E:drive.
When using the fleet.dta file, you can turn off the restriction code by adding 1- or 2-digit
mask to the end of each fleet number you want to affect in the fleet.dta file. This 1- or 2-
digit mask will be at the end of the fleet number making it look like a 7-digit number, or
can be separated by a comma, or other character (123456,2). In this instance, a fleet
number ends with a 2, the vehicle restriction is turned off and there will be no prompt.

• If the fleet.dta file does not exist, the fleet number is checked against either of the two

system IDs.

Then the 5-digit vehicle number followed by the 6-digit fleet number of the WEX card is
checked against the WEX.DTA negative lockout file located on the PCMCIA RAM Card, E:
Drive (F: if there is no E: Drive found) or the RAM Drive (R:) if a CFN III. If the number is
found, the cards are invalid.

The WEX.DTA file is a sorted, ASCII file and is limited to 20,000 11-digit records. If no
WEX.DTA file exists, a prompt of “down try later” will be displayed.
