Removing and Replacing the Engine Oil
WHEN PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE, YOU MUST FIRST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, WAIT FIVE (5)
MINUTES FOR PARTS TO COOL AND DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE.
BE CERTAIN TO FILL THE ENGINE CRANKCASE WITH OIL BEFORE STARTING. SEE PAGE 25.
Tools & Supplies Recommended:

Pliers
•
SAE 30 HD, 20 oz. (0.60L)
•
Suitable Oil Receptacle
NOTE: Drain the oil when the Engine is warm. Warm oil drains quickly and completely.
1. Position a suitable oil receptacle under the Engine oil Drain and remove the Oil Fill Cap (Figure 30).
2. Remove the Engine oil Drain Cap counterclockwise using Pliers (Figure 30).
3. Allow the used oil to drain completely, then reinstall the Oil Drain Cap and tighten securely.
4. Replace the Engine oil using SAE 30 HD oil. See page 25.
5. Reattach the Spark Plug Wire.
NOTE:
If you are not reusing the oil, be sure to use environmentally safe disposal procedures in the disposing of the
used oil.
