2 Maintenance
Checking the Thermostat
If the quality of your product decreases, check
the accuracy of the thermostat. Heat some
shortening in the fryer, measure the temperature
of the shortening using a thermometer you know
to be accurate, and compare this reading to the
thermostat setting. It is important that you put
the thermometer in the top 1”/2.5 cm or so of
shortening, because this is where the donuts fry,
and this is where the temperature should be
consistent. If you need to calibrate the
thermostat, consult Section 4, “Electrical
Components.”
If you ever want to test the continuity of the
thermostat or any of the switches on your Donut
Robot, refer to Section 4, “Electrical
Components.”
