Clutch Parking Brake Lock

When the clutch parking brake pedal is depress ?d all
the way, it can be locked in the engaged position by
lifting up the lock button. To release, depress the pedal.
See figure 11.

The brake pedal is located on the right side of the lawn
tractor and is operated by depressing it with your right
foot. When coming to a complete stop, it is nece ssary
to depress both the clutch parking brake and the brake

pedals. Refer to figure 10.

Gear Shift Lever

The five speed transmission has five forward sp ?eds,

neutral and reverse. Do not shift normally through the
gears on this transmission as in an automobile Pre­

select the gear appropriate for the job you are coing.
The list below can be used as a guide to select th(

per gear. You must depress the clutch pedal whe ^ you
stop and when you shift.

1st gear—Heavy Cutting

5th gear—Traveling

2nd gear—Medium Cutting

Neutral

3rd gear—Medium Cutting

Reverse

4th gear—Light Cutting

WARNING: The blades does not shut off
when the deck is raised. You must place
the Blade Engagement Lever in the raised
(OFF) position.

Blade Engagement Lever

To engage the cutting blade, raise the blade engage­

ment lever up and to the left, it will lock in this position.

To disengage the blade, move the blade engagement

lever to the right and lower it slowly. The blade must
be shut off in order to start the engine or to dump the

grass catcher. See figure 13.

Lift Lever

The lift lever is located on the right hand side of the

unit. It is used to raise and lower the cutting d(}ck.

There are five cutting heights from 21/4" to 3%'. Set
the stop at the desired cutting height. See figure 12.

GRASS CATCHER OPERATION

A

WARNING: The grass catcher is a part of

the lawn tractor. The lawn tractor should

not be operated without the grass catcher
in place.
