If the signal is poor, or there is interference:
• If there is a microwave oven or other electrical devices being used in the path
between the camera and monitor, they may affect the signal range. Try powering off
the other electrical devices to see if this improves performance
• Pair the monitor and camera again to see if this resolves the issue
• Make sure the camera and the monitor are within range of each other (range of
approximately 100 ft; 200 ft in a clear line of sight)
I powered on the camera and the USB is plugged in and I still cannot see footage:
• You may have to pair the camera and USB receiver. Please see PAIRING THE CAMERA
AND USB RECEIVER
• Make sure the Camera’s LED is on and, if not, make sure the camera is connected to a
power source
• There may be an issue with the USB port on your computer, try plugging the USB
receiver into another USB port on your computer
• Make sure you have installed the USB receiver’s drivers. The drivers must be installed
before the watcher program can detect your USB receiver
I am unable to playback my recorded footage:
• Make sure you are playing the footage back using the provided video player as it
supports the .avi file that was recorded
• Try changing your video compression and opening the footage with another
program. If this is unsuccessful, try uninstalling and re-installing the program
• Try rebuilding the files using the player maintenance option – Make sure the
watcher software is closed before doing this
My camera stopped connecting to the Internet:
• If you have a dynamic IP address (which most people do) your IP address can
randomly change. When this happens you have to re-do the port forwarding with
your new IP address
The night vision is not working (not turning on or off):
• Check the brightness/darkness of the room
• The night vision does not turn on automatically in the dark, you must manually turn
on the night vision by pressing the “light” button
The video is playing slowly when I am viewing it online:
• Check your Internet connection; if your connection is slow the video will
stream slowly
• Try opening the video the smaller screen option
• Try adjusting the quality of the video – the lower the quality the faster the video
will stream
The watcher program is not opening up/staying open, it is giving me an error message:
• Make sure the USB receiver is plugged into the computer, the watcher software will
not open if there is no USB receiver
• Make sure you are using a full version of the software, if the software expires it will
not open
• Make sure your video compression is set to SW Video Encoder, this is the default
setting, changing the compression can cause problems with the camera and
the software
The software keeps freezing and shutting down:
• Try unplugging and plugging the USB receiver back in
• Try re-pairing the camera and USB receiver
• Try uninstalling and re-installing the software
• Try restoring the default settings on the software by deselecting the option to save
your record settings and restarting the program
I cannot hear any sound:
• Make sure nothing is obstructing the microphone on the camera
• Make sure the software does not have the sound muted
• Make sure the main audio capture filter is turned ON
• Make sure the volume on your computer is turned ON
• Make sure your computer is connected to an audio source (speakers or headphone)
My External IP address stopped working with my camera:
• Your External IP address can change from time to time, try visiting www.whatsmyip.
org to see if it is still the same. If it is different, write it down and use the new
External IP address to access the online footage
• If you set up a DynDNS account it will adjust for your external IP address for you so
you can avoid this issue in the future
