D. The Message Center and the Auto-Receive Functions
If you have set both the Message Center and the AUTO ANSWER functions to OFF on your
FAX-210
and someone is calling your unit, the unit will, after 15 rings:
• Enter the MESSAGE CENTER ON MODE after 15 rings if the OGM is recorded and
the ICM is not full. The OGM will start after 15 rings. After completion of this call,
the unit will revert to its original status — MESSAGE CENTER OFF and AUTO
ANSWER OFF.
or
Enter the AUTO ANSWER mode if the OGM is not recorded or the ICM is full.
E. Toll-Saver feature
This function works on the
FAX-210
in the MESSAGE CENTER mode as follows. The
MESSAGE CENTER will answer your call on:
• 3 rings if there is no message - then, after 3 rings the OGM will go on. Thus, unless
you wish to record a message on your unit via the remote MESSAGE CENTER
feature, you can hang up before the 3rd ring and save the cost of a completed phone
call.
•
1 ring if there is a message or messages. The OGM will start after 1 ring and you can
use remote control procedures to pick up the message.
•
1 ring if the ICM is full. Then, after 1 ring. Auto Answer will go on.
F. Call Screening
You can screen the incoming call via the monitor and this allows you to answer the call after you
have known who is calling or, if it is a facsimile transmission (which you will know as soon as
you hear the fax tones), you can let the unit accept the facsimile transmission in either the
automatic or the manual modes (depending on your preference).
