Use the cursor keys to select simple polling (simple polling means that a single

document is sent to a single receiver over a single telephone line). The LCD will
display:

POLLING:STD

MSG CTR
AUTO ANS

■ PASSWORD

SET

twice. The LCD will display:

POLLING WAITING

— MSG CTR
— AUTO ANS

^PASSWORD

The unit is now ready to be polled by a remote facsimile machine.

Should you change your mind about being polled, return to step 1 by pressing

FUNCTION

and

"4".

Next, select "POLLING:OFF", press

SET

twice and then press

STOP.

Now, the document will be removed.

NOTE 1

:

Callback Message, COVERPAGE™, and Call Pickup Alert cannot be used

with POLLING.

NOTE 2:

Total number of pages to be transmitted can be set.

NOTE

3: If the unit is waiting to be polled, do not press

HOOK

or pick up the handset

when it rings.

B. Setting Your Unit to Poii Another Fax Unit

Make sure there is NO document in your feeder. While in the FUNCTION MODE (press
FUNCTION),

Your unit goes into a POLLING REQUEST MODE. The LCD will

display:

MSG CTR

POLLING:OFF

— AUTO ANS
^PASSWORD

Use the cursor keys to select simple polling (simple polling means that a single

3. Press

SET

once. The LCD will request the fax number to be polled and display:

Input the numbers using the ten key pad. To dial manually, press

MAN.DIAL

first.

Press

START

and the unit will commence polling. The document will now be

received by your unit.

NOTE:

If the remote fax unit did not have its polling function activated, your polling

request will be unsuccessful and the LCD will revert to the standby mode
(where it displays the date and time).
