Caller ID service from your phone company
Caller ID
This unit is compatible with a Caller ID service offered by your local telephone company. To use this
feature, you must subscribe to a Caller ID service.
Caller ID and its capabilities
Caller ID allows you to view the name or telephone number of the caller before you answer the call.
The calling party information (name has priority) will be displayed after the first ring.
By using Caller ID, you have the option of whether or not to answer the call depending on the caller.
The unit also stores the caller’s information and prints a list automatically after every 35 calls (p. 56).
•To print out the Caller ID list manually, see page 112 .
Important;
•This feature is not available on line 2 . When you subscribe to a Caller ID service, use line 1 telephone
number.
•When you subscribe to a Caller ID service, set the following ring count settings to 2 or more rings:
—FAX ONLY mode ring count for line 1 (p. 81), and
—TEL7FAX delayed ring count (p. 91).
How Caller ID is displayed
I When a call is received, the display will show the
caller’s name after the first ring.

You can display the caller’s name and number
respectively by pressing (NAME/TEL NO.].
After hanging up, the caller’s information (name,
telephone number and the time of the call) will
automatically be saved in the Caller ID list (p. 51).
Note:
• If the unit is connected to a PBX system, you may not receive the caller’s information. Consult your PBX
supplier.
•The Caller ID service is currently provided in calling areas by caller identification technology. If the caller’s
information cannot be received, the display will show as follows.
Display: OUT OF AREA
PRIVATE CALLER
LONG DISTANCE
The caller dialed from an area which does not provide the Caller ID
service.
The caller has requested not to send their information.
The caller made a long distance call.
•When the unit receives a call while sending or receiving fax documents on the other line, the caller’s
information cannot be displayed.
