Features of this 2-line system
The KX-FPW111 can use two telephone lines allowing you to hold a voice conversation on one line, and
send/receive a fax message on the other line. In addition, both lines can be used to hold a conference call with
two parties. Below are examples showing how the system can be used.
1. When one line is used for fax communication:
You can make or receive a voice call on the other line.
2. When one line is used for voice communication:
You can send or receive a document on the other line.
3. When an external telephone answering machine connected to the facsimile is used for LINE 1:
You can send or receive documents on LINE 2.
4. While having a conversation on one line:
You can make or answer a second call on the other line and then combine both calls to make a conference
call.
Important:
• If one line is busy sending/receiving a fax, the other line can only be used for voice communication.
Auto line selection
The unit will automatically select a free line when you lift the handset or press [MONITOR]. Line 1 is given
priority over line 2 when both lines are free. When a line is ringing, that line will automatically be selected
when you lift the handset.

You can directly select either line 1 or 2 by pressing [LINE 1 ] or (LINE 2] before making or answering a call.
Different line features
Line 1 has various convenient features for voice and fax calls.
The following features are available on this line:
• Receiving faxes automatically (AUTO ANSWER mode)
• Sending a fax using the FaxSav service
• Recording voice messages and receiving fax documents (using the external telephone answering machine)
• Remote fax receiving using the extension telephone
•Compatible with Caller ID service
•Three types of receive mode (TEL, FAX ONLY, TEL/FAX)
Line 2 is a simple telephone/facsimile line that allows you to answer all voice and fax calls yourself.
Distinguishable ringer
There is a difference between the ringer sound of line 1 and line 2.
You can control each ringer volume separately (p. 38).
