Greeting
Recording your own greeting messages
The recording time is limited to 16 seconds for each message. Record your message within 12 seconds for
best performance.
o You can choose either 16 seconds or 60 seconds of recording time for the TAD/FAX greeting message (see
page 93).
Suggested messages
TAD/FAX greeting message
“This is (your name, business and/or telephone number). We are
unable to answer right now. To send a fax, start transmission. To
leave a message, speak after the beep. Thank you.”
TEL7FAX greeting message
“This is (your name, business and/or telephone number).
IVe are
unable to answer right now. Please try again later. Thank you
. "
Note:
o If you do not record any messages, one of the pre-recorded messages will be played (see page 90).
Recordiiog a greetinig message

Make sure that the AUTO ANSWER setting is set
to the desired mode (TAD/FAX orTELVFAX mode)
where you want to record a greeting message (see
page 73).
Press (RECORD] two times,
o The display will show one of the following
according to your selection in step 1.
For the TAD/FAX greeting:
Display:
2.TAD GREETING
PRESS START
For the TELVFAX greeting:
2.T/F GREETING
PRESS START
Press [START/COPY/SET].
o A long beep will sound,
o The display will show one of the following
according to your selection in step 1.
For the TAD/FAX greeting:
TAD REC. 16s
For the TEL7FAX greeting:
T/F REC. 16s

Speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away
from the microphone,
o The display will show the remaining
recording time.
Example: TAD/FAX greeting
TAD REC. 15s
When finished, press (STOP),
o The unit will repeat your message. You
can adjust the volume using or [^.

Note:
o If you make a mistake while recording, repeat from step 2.
o If you record a TEL/FAX greeting message, it will be played as the second greeting message. The first
greeting message will always play even if a TEL/FAX greeting message is recorded (see page 90).
