Reproducing an Advanced Virtual Surround
Sound (VSS) effect
[Dolby Digital (AC-3) DVD (2 channel and above)]
Use this function when external speakers are used to produce a surround-like effect when
playing Dolby Digital DVDs. The speakers must be stereo and the Dolby Digital must be 2
channel or over.
Press VSS during play.

•The stereo speakers in this player are
not adequate for reproduction of the vir
tual
surround
sound
effect.
External
speakers should be connected to the
player.
•When the player is connected to a TV set
with surround effect, turn off the surround
effect on the TV set to operate the virtual
surround sound effect of the player.
For your reference:
•For optimum effect, it is recommended
that the distance between the player and
the listening position be about 3 or 4
times the distance between the right and
left front speakers.
