On the player

•The speed of advance (reverse) is rela
tively slow at first. When the button is
pressed
again,
the
speed
becomes
faster. (Each time the button is pressed,
the speed increases up to 5 steps.)

• Normal play is resumed when PLAY (>)

For your reference;
• For DVDs and Video CDs, audio will be
heard during scanning at the initial scan
speed. (See page 40.) For CDs, audio
will be heard .during scanning at every
scan speed (1 to 5).

play of Video CDs with playback control,
a menu screen may sometimes be re

•The disc is advanced (reversed) by one
frame each time the joystick is tilted or
the cursor buttons are pressed.
•When the joystick is kept tilted or the cur
sor buttons are pressed, consecutive
frame advance (reverse) works,
• Normal play is resumed when PLAY
( > )
is pressed.
Notes:
• For Video CDs, frame reverse is not pos
sible.
• If the GUI screen (Shuttle screen) is dis
played, tilting/pressing the joystick/cursor
buttons in the still picture mode activates
slow-motion play, and frame advance/
frame reverse does not work. (See page
28.)
For your reference:
• Pressing PAUSE (DD) also activates
frame advance.
•Whether the pictures are advanced by a
“Frame” or “Field” is automatic. (See
page 40.)
