Using the Recorder

Upload and/or delete files using a USB connection:
• If
the
POV.HD
recorder
is
powered
down,
power
it
up.
• Connect
the
recorder
to
a
USB
port
on
the
computer
using
the
USB
cable
included
with
the
POV.HD, or any standard USB 2 cable with compatible connectors.
• The LCD will display "USB Connection Detected, Enter USB Mode?" indicating that you are
linked
to
a
computer
via
USB.
The
left
soft
key
is
labeled
“USB
Mode”,
and
the
right
soft
key
is
labeled
“No”.
• Select USB Mode to connect to the computer via USB. While in USB Mode, the recorder cannot be
used for any other function.
• On
a
Mac,
the
recorder
will
appear
in
the
Finder
as
an
external
drive.
• On
a
Windows
PC,
in
Windows
Explorer,
the
POV.HD
will
appear
as
a
removable
disk
under
My
Computer.
• Once the recorder is connected to your computer, you can transfer files from the recorder to your
computer,
or
delete
files
on
the
SDHC
card
in
the
same
way
you
would
transfer
or
delete
files
on
any
external
drive
such
as
a
CD,
DVD,
or
backup
drive.
• NOTE: If the SDHC card has no label, it will appear in the Finder or Windows Explorer as “NO
NAME”,
“UNKNOWN
DEVICE”,
or
something
similar.
If
the
SDHC
card
has
a
volume
label,
that
label
will
appear
as
the
name
of
the
device.
The
SDHC
card
provided
with
the
POV.HD
is
formatted
with
the
volume
label
“POV_HD”.
• Note: If you are using a Mac, when you delete files, you must be certain to also empty the trash.
On
a
Mac
deleted
files
are
left
in
place
and
marked
as
being
in
the
trash.
Empty
Trash
is
required
to
physically
remove
the
files
from
the
SDHC
card.
Once the video files are on your computer, they can be treated like any other video files.
• They
can
be
viewed
using
any
suitable
video
player
that
runs
on
your
system.
• They
can
be
edited,
compiled,
and/or
resized
into
your
own
custom
videos.
• They
can
be
burned
onto
CD’s
or
DVD’s.
• They
can
be
uploaded
to
YouTube
or
any
other
video
sharing
site
on
the
Internet.
Delete video clips and still photos from the recorder
You
can
delete
video
clips
and
still
photos
from
the
SDHC
card
without
removing
the
card
or
connecting
to
a
computer
Delete
video
clips
and
still
photos
using
the
recorder
To delete clips on the recorder, the recorder must be powered up and in Play Preview mode.
•
If
the
recorder
is
not
powered
up,
press
the
power
button
for
1-‐2
seconds
to
power
it
up.
•
If
the
recorder
is
not
in
Play
Preview
mode,
press
Play.
•
Use
the
clip
selection
soft
keys
Previous
and
Next
to
navigate
to
the
clip
or
still
photo
you
wish
to
delete.
•
Press
the
Delete
soft
key
to
delete
the
selected
clip
or
a
still
photo.
•
The
message
“Do
you
want
to
delete
the
selected
recording?”
will
be
displayed.
•
Press
the
Yes
soft
key
to
confirm
your
action
and
delete
the
clip
or
still
photo.
Press
No
to
keep
the clip or still photo and cancel the delete.
Note:
You
cannot
access
tag
clips
directly
on
the
recorder,
but
if
you
delete
a
clip
on
which
Save
Tags
has
been
run,
the
associated
tag
clips
are
deleted
as
well.
Tag
clips
for
other
clips
are
not
affected.
Note:
If
you
delete
a
clip
that
was
used
to
create
a
highlight
clip,
that
original
clip
will
be
deleted,
but
the
highlight
clip
will
be
preserved.
In
other
words,
if
my
make
and
tagged
clip
and
then
run
Compile
Tags
on
that
clip
to
generate
a
highlight
clip,
you
can
delete
the
tagged
clip
and
keep
only
the
highlight
clip.
