IDE CONFIGURATION SCREEN
This screen provides functions for specifying IDE configuration settings.
ATA/IDE Configuration
This function specifies the IDE channel modes.
Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings: Compatible
SETTING DESCRIPTION
Disabled Use this setting to completely disable all PATA and SATA devices. This setting prevents the
OS from detecting the controller devices.
Compatible Use this setting to allow the PATA channel and two out of four SATA devices to be joined
together to one legacy IDE compatible PCI controller device.
Enhanced Use this setting to allow the PATA channel and the SATA devices to appear as two indepen-
dent PCI controller devices.
