About CF cards
CF Cards
• The camera is shipped with a 2MB
(megabyte) CF card. Canon also
provides 4MB and 15MB cards.
• Your PowerShot 350 uses special CF
(CompactFlash) cards to store image
data. Please note that not all CF cards
are compatible with the camera. To
ensure that the camera is used safely, we
recommend that you use Canon CF
cards.
Always check with your dealer, or Canon
service facility before using other CF
cards with the camera.
Handling precautions for CF cards
• Do not bend the cards, or subject them to
strong or sudden shocks. Do not drop the
' cards.
• Do not store the cards in the following
locations:
Dusty or humid locations.
Locations where they will be exposed to
static electricity or magnetic fields.
• Do not allow dust, water, or foreign
objects to enter the CF card holder slot
on the camera.
Image data
• Pictures taken with the PowerShot 350
are stored on the CF cards as digital
data. This means that data images stored
on the card can be erased, or duplicated.
• The image data in the cards may be lost
or the card damaged if the card is
mishandled, exposed to static discharge
or magnetic fields. Canon accepts no
responsibility whatsoever for the loss of
recorded data.
About the LCD panel
• The LCD panel is built using precise
engineering. Over 99.98% of the pixels in
the panel are effective, however, 0.02%
of the pixels may be defective or flicker.
• Do not press the surface of the LCD
panel. This will cause ripples to appear
on the panel and can cause it to
malfunction.
• In cold conditions, the image on the LCD
panel will be darker than normal. As the
camera warms up, the image will become
brighter.
• If you press the + or - button repeatedly
during playback, the earlier images may
remain on the screen. Do not press the +
or - button too quickly when playing back
the images.
• Clean the surface of the LCD panel with
a soft, dry cloth.
About the LCD panel backlight
• The LCD panel contains a special
fluorescent backlight for illumination. If
the image becomes dark, flickers, or is
not displayed at all, the backlight may
have expired. Replace the backlight with
a new one.
Consult your dealer or Canon service
facility about replacing the backlight.
About the rechargeable Ni-Cd
batteries
Using other rechargeable Ni-Cd
batteries
• Only use the rechargeable Ni-Cd
batteries included with the camera, or
Panasonic P-3GAV rechargeable Ni-Cd
batteries (optional) with this camera.
