What is White Baiance?
White balance determines the white
colour in an image under various
lighting conditions. After determining
which colour is white, for example in
sunlight or under fluorescent lighting,
white balance adjusts the other colours
in an image to suit the lighting
conditions. Since all colours (of light)
are based on white, if white can be
determined, all the other colours should
appear natural.

Notes/Tips
• For most users’ we recommend that you use
the PowerShot 350’s automatic white
balance adjustment (

is not displayed).

• It is not always possible to adjust the white
balance manually in dark conditions. If you
cannot set the white balance manually, use
the automatic mode.
• After adjusting the white balance manually,
the setting is saved even if the power is
turned off. However, when the power is
turned on white balance is automatically set
to Auto mode. To use the stored manual
setting, press the W.BAL button to switch to
manual mode.
