Getting the Best Out of Your Camera

Precautions
Avoid locations near equipment that
generates magnetic energy or radio
frequencies, such as a TV or game
machine.
• If the camera is placed on or near a TV,
electrical interference may effect the
images in the camera.
• The camera and radio frequencies
generated by some electrical devices can
interfere with each other, causing the
images in the camera to be damaged.
Avoid using the camera near electricity
poles.
• The electrical energy generated by these
utilities can adversely effect the quality of
the images.
Do not use the camera in the following
locations:
• In a bathroom or other humid location.
• In a warehouse or other dusty location.
• Near a heater, fire or other sources of
heat.
Do not use the camera where there are
corrosive or harmful vapors.
• If the camera is used in such a location,
the casing may discolor or the coating
may start to peel off.
• Do not stand the camera on a rubber or
plastic surface for a long time.
This camera is not designed for
commercial use.
Notes on carrying the camera
Do not drop the camera or expose it to
shocks, when moving or carrying it.
• If the camera is knocked, the external
casing may break, causing the camera to
malfunction.
• Handle the camera carefully when
carrying it. Put it in the soft case, or wrap
the wrist strap around your wrist to avoid
accidentally dropping the camera.
• If the camera is inserted into a different
bag, the switch settings may be changed.
Always check the image quality mode
settings etc. before taking pictures.
Keep the camera in a plastic bag when
moving it from a cold location to a
warm location.
• If condensation accumulates on the
camera, remove the batteries and dry
them before using the camera.
Notes on cleaning the camera
Do not use benzene, thinner or other
solvents to clean the camera.
• Always turn the camera off before
cleaning it. Disconnect the AC adapter if
you are using it.
• Solvent may cause the casing to distort,
or the coating to peel off.
• Use a soft dry cloth to clean the camera.
For stubborn stains, wipe the camera
with diluted detergent, then wipe it with a
dry cloth.
• If using a chemical cleaner, follow the
precautions for the product you are using.
Notes on handling the batteries
Always remove the batteries, or
disconnect the AC adapter when you
have finished using the camera.
• If the batteries are left in the camera for
an extended period of time they may
leak, damaging the camera.
• Store the camera and batteries in a cool,
dry location with an even temperature.
An
