Lap Dissolve (

Shooting both fade-outs and fadenns is called lap dissolve.
This procedure with one scene fading away gradually while the next scene
appears is used to change scenes smoothly.

Unlock
the
variable
shutter
control
lock
to
free
the
variable
shutter
control ring by sliding the fading sening button to the right.
•
Move
the
film
rewinding
switch
button
to
indicate
blue
while
pulling
the trigger.
In this operation, the film transport indicator lamp stops blinking.
• Continue pulling the trigger. Lap dissolve starts and when the variable
shutter
control
ring
comes
to
the
“C"
position,
the
shutter
will
stop
automatically.
• To rewind film, turn the ring to the "REWIND" position.
When the film is rewound, it automatically stops.
•
When
the
film
is
not
rewound
completely,
you
cannot
start
shooting
even when you pull the trigger. Be careful not to remove your hand from
the ring while rewinding the film. When the hand is removed, turn the ring
to the "REWIND" position again to complete rewinding.
• Pull the trigger and the film transport indicator lamp starts blinking.
The ring will turn to the "O" position and lap dissolve ends. Keep pulling
the trigger to continue ordinary shooting from there on.
Approximately 50 frames of lap dissolve is possible.
R E S E T T I N G L A P D I S S O L V E
When the film is not driven properly in lap dissolve, push the rewind
mechanism cancellation button and pull the trigger.
Continue
pulling
the
trigger
until
the
variable
shutter
control
ring
turns
to the "C" position and, from there, returns to the "0" position.
When
the
variable
shutter
control
ring
turns
to
the
"O"
position,
the
fading
setting
switch
moves
automatically
to
show
the
orange
mark.
Stop driving the film and then reset lap dissolve.

Film Transport Indicator Lamp
This lamp is used to check if the film is properly driven.
The
lamp
blinks
when
the
film
advances.
If
the
film
is
not
driven
properly, the lamp stops blinking.
In lap dissolve or in superimposition, the lamp stops blinking when you
begin
a
fade-out.
The
lamp
starts
blinking
when
you
perform
fade-in
after rewinding the film.
